Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • A Quality Control Technician should be detailed oriented, accurate, have a strong work ethic and quality mindset
  • Follow quality control procedures
  • Pre-pour inspection per specifications
  • Post pour inspection of finished concrete products to determine conformance or nonconformance per specifications and quality control guidelines.
  • Advise management of nonconformance
  • Perform daily quality control test
  • Maintain daily quality control records, reports and test results.
  • Inspection of inbound and outbound shipments

Education & Experience:

  • Associate's degree in related field
  • QC experience minimum 2 years

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • PCI Level 1 Certification
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Concrete experience

Licenses & Certifications:

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of all quality control functions within the precast, ready mix, and steel fabrication divisions. This includes responsibility for quality control, safety, oversight of production means and methods, administration, documentation and cost control.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Immediately report all accidents, incidents and near misses occurring on the job site to your supervisor.
  • Report all safety and health hazards to supervisors and take necessary actions to establish an immediate temporary control of the hazard until permanent control can be established.
  • Maintain and utilize all PPE provided.
  • Attend and participate in all required safety training and meetings.
  • Learn and comply with all safety rules, policies and regulations applicable to your work.

Quality control

  • Oversee and manage quality control technicians.
  • Review project concrete specifications.
  • Prepare and submit proper documentation and submittals for material and mix design approval.

  • Prepare and submit 12” x 12” samples and mock ups for A/E approval of color, texture, and finish.
  • Quality control responsibility for conducting product in-process and post-process inspections for conformance to job specifications and fabrication details.
  • Quality control for in-house and job site concrete testing for precast and ready mix.
  • Supervise and maintain the concrete testing laboratory to support the ready mix, precast, and PCI requirements.
  • Responsibility for implementation and maintenance of the PCI Quality System manual for the precast plant and PCI accreditation.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the quality system for Penn DOT plant certification.
  • Monitor the quality control portion of AISC certification.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records that are understandable and easy to access.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction related field OR high school diploma/GED/Tech Prep Diploma with a minimum 5 years of relevant management experience in the construction of materials industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with a computer with working knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet application, Word and Outlook.
  • ACI Level 1 Certification
  • PCI Level III or equivalent
  • Proficient in safety regulations and quality control related items.

  • Assist in inspection and verification of the accuracy of dimensions of units, quantity and location of reinforcement and cast-in items, forms and mold layout, and other matters pertaining specifically to production.
  • Assist in checking adequacy of the form to product units without undesirable distortion or surface defects.
  • Assist in inspection and observation of stressing operations to insure that specified procedures are followed and design forces are obtained.
  • Assist in fabrication of representative test samples and concrete testing.
  • Assist in inspection of all finished products for conformance with shop drawings and all applicable specifications set forth by the project owner.
  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of complete quality control records (paper and electronic) for all products. These records shall include all information pertaining to the production of each unit and will provide a means by which a unit may be identified.
  • Assist in maintaining calibrations on all QC equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Good planning, organization, and basic math (geometry, algebra, trigonometry) skills.
  • Broad base of knowledge in concrete construction and testing.
  • Must be an excellent communicator and able to deal effectively with a wide range of personalities.
  • Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Windows, MSO Word, MSO Excel, databases, & and data acquisition software.
