We are looking for an energetic Quality Control Laboratory Technician with strong desire to interact with architectural precast concrete components.  Will be exposed to a wide range of lab testing procedures, documentation, geometry, inspections, aesthetic observations and the like.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

As the Quality Control Laboratory Technician, you will be tasked with learning and eventually testing for compliance of Precast Concrete Institute, PCI standards and audits.  You will interact with other quality control technicians and report to the QC Manager.  You will be reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, reading and understanding technical industry manuals and testing procedures, utilizing measuring tapes, walking up and down off of elevated platforms, being exposed to concrete mix designs, structural reinforcing mesh cages, and steel hardware.

Education & Experience:

  • 2+ years of documented precast concrete quality control experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated verbal/written communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Proactive thinker

Licenses & Certifications:

  • ACI – American Concrete Institute Certified preferred but not required.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Quality Control Technician is responsible to safely perform tasks involving some physical labor for assisting Precast / Prestressed Concrete Product Production. Candidate will be responsible for performing tests as required on raw materials in process components and final product. Participating in tests, inspections, processing methods and material qualifications. Use of a diverse range of hand tools and testing equipment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Capable of operating multiple pieces of construction tools and equipment used in testing precast concrete manufacturing.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Perform daily maintenance, cleaning and safety checks of equipment to ensure smooth operation
  • Clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary
  • Perform daily plastic concrete tests and compressive strength testing on hardened concrete specimens
  • Perform daily pre-pour and post-pour inspections of products
  • Perform prestressing inspection tasks
  • Marking of all products.
  • Operate equipment on company property, maintaining proper awareness of one’s surroundings
  • Maintain clear and precise record keeping according to ACI, PCI, DOT and Coreslab Structures requirements.
  • Perform duties safe and efficiently

Education & Experience:
