KTA has an immediate opening for a reliable and competent PCI Certified Concrete Inspection Supervisor for full-time work throughout eastern Pennsylvania, NJ, MD, and DE. The incumbent will be responsible for supervision and oversight of inspection personnel assigned to prestressed and precast concrete plants and concrete grate and frame fabrication. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining both handwritten and electronic records of inspection and test data using the Departments EQMS application;
  • Ensuring consistent inspection is maintained through uniform specification and policy enforcement;
  • Acting as a troubleshooter for Structural Materials Engineering staff by correcting routine problems;
  • Attending prefabrication or other meetings;
  • Performing plant audits.

This position is open to all candidates with the following qualifications:

  • ACI Certified Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I AND PCI Level II certification issued by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute. Must have knowledge of the principles and methods applied in inspecting the fabrication of prestressed concrete bridge beams, precast concrete and concrete pipe and concrete grate and frame.
  • 5 years of Precast and Prestressed Experience in Concrete Fabrication Shops – required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent – required
  • PennDOT Concrete Field Testing Technician – preferred
  • Knowledge and use of the PennDOT EQMS system – preferred
  • Prior experience in PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Highway and Bridge Construction Inspection - preferred
  • Ability to effectively direct and supervise an inspection force including the coordination of the inspection force to accommodate varying fabrication schedules.

Summary:

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Quality Control Inspector performs and documents QC Inspections of all architectural precast concrete products, evaluating pieces for dimensional accuracy, required tolerances and appearance; and assists in interpreting piece tickets for production.
