Coreslab Structures (OKLA) Inc. is in immediate need of an Estimator. The Estimator will work under general supervision, reporting to the Chief Estimator and Sales Manager.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Forecasts costs for new projects.
  • Able to read and complete a comprehensive product takeoff from plans and specifications.
  • Compiles data to estimate all sales costs based on plans and specifications.
  • Considers current economic conditions that may affect the organization's ability to sell its products or services in the marketplace.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction industry; experience with Prestressed/Precast concrete products is a plus.
  • Relies on judgment and limited experience to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.

Education & Experience:

  • Can fluently speak, read and write English
  • Minimum Associates degree in Construction
  • 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Bluebeam software a plus (will be required to learn)
  • Ability to read a tape measure and recognize measurements on blueprints and diagrams
  • Autodesk – AutoCAD a plus (will be required to learn)
  • Able to work with all Microsoft office software
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Analyzes contract documents, plans, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to determine costs associated with precast concrete scope by performing essential duties as listed below:

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reviews contract documents to determine precast scope of work. Types of projects would normally include parking garages, warehouses, schools, jails, prisons or other facilities requiring innovative concrete products.
  • Perform accurate takeoff of precast components.
  • Utilize Excel spreadsheets to determine plant, freight, and field operations costs associated with the project.
  • Prepares estimates to be used by management, sales, planning, engineering, and field operations in scheduling work, preparing bids; consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues as requested by Sales personnel.
  • Completes duties and responsibilities in the appropriate time frame with minimal supervision
  • Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost date of effect cost reductions.
  • Interfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to cost estimates.
  • Visualizes and/or creates 3-D precast concept from 2-D contract drawings.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Understands engineering concepts regarding general structural concepts, connections, component limitations, and constructability.
  • Has daily contact with fellow employees in other units of the company, top management, customers and vendors/suppliers.

Education & Experience:

  • Associates Degree (2 year) or an equivalent combination of experience/training is needed.
  • 1 to 3 (+) years of related experience is required.

  • Utilize standard forecasted pricing ensuring the estimating platform is current
  • Prepare professional and binding Project Proposals
  • Obtain information necessary to complete estimates and proposals
  • Provide input into job complexity, desirability, and other associates information
  • Schedule and conduct bid review meetings
  • Assign a job number and post current estimates
  • Communicate with all persons and groups interested in the bid process
  • Contribute to the team effort
  • Secure confidential and intellectual information
  • Perform all occupational safety and hazard procedures in conjunction with essential duties

Education & Experience:

  • Equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities of this classification.
  • Must successfully complete and possess all required company training and certification before operating any machinery, equipment or tools.
  • Must be able to work overtime on short notice, which could exceed 8 hours per shift and/or 40 hours per work week.

  • Advanced math, organization, documentation, and filing

  • Appropriate software and estimating platforms

  • Read drawing and conceptually infer the intent of the designer
  • Interpret specifications and verify assumptions
  • Obtain information required to prepare accurate bids
  • Prioritize to meet all deadlines and maintain professionalism and accuracy
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees;
  • Communicate effectively
