Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Floor Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of plant production, loading, yarding and batch plant. This includes safety, quality, personnel, productivity, and equipment/fixed assets assigned to these areas. Control and supervise all operations of production functions and other areas of the facility.  Directly responsible for the results of production operations and it’s interaction with other effected areas.  Direct Area Supervisors, Leads and influence processes in the production and associated duties of manufactured products; perform related work as required or assigned.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create and enforce a positive, safe, efficient and quality culture
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the safety department, engineering and HR Department
  • Attend weekly quality and staff meetings
  • Communicate with other Staff Members and train subordinates to improve quality
  • Participate in team meetings to identify and implement process improvements
  • Lead weekly production meetings addressing safety, quality, maintenance, schedules (long term and weekly), shipping, materials, and production issues
  • Ensure the appropriate number and type of personnel are in placed to obtain efficiency
  • Direct Area Supervisors in assuring conformance to estimated labor projections
  • Monitor and report on actual labor hours
  • Ensure the appropriate equipment and tools are provided for efficient and safe operations
  • Review production quantities and material usage and monitor to minimize waste and maximize efficiencies
  • Continually provide necessary training and tools to first line supervisors to allow for success
  • Monitor personnel for adherence and enforce to company policies and productivity
  • Weekly look ahead and daily planning of formwork and personnel
  • Develop and maintain production procedures
  • Ensure order and housekeeping
  • Comply with all OSHA and other regulatory agencies
  • Ensure all occupational safety and hazard procedures in conjunction with all essential duties
  • Strive for zero defects and incidents
  • Read, understand and implement drawings to specifications and within tolerances
  • Ensure a quality product (including quality evaluations) that meets the customer’s expectations
  • Work with batch plant on pouring schedule
  • Able to travel to company sponsored meetings and seminars

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years precast/prestressed production supervisory experience.
  • Two-year College Associates Degree or equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities of this classification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Production processes, concrete manufacturing, and support functions
  • Thorough understanding of construction materials, reinforced concrete, and industry requirements
  • Architectural precast concrete finishes and casting techniques
  • Industry tolerances and specifications for specific product lines
  • Prestressing and post-tensioning operations
  • Good mechanical aptitude, equipment uses, function and maintenance
  • Handling and transporting of cured products
  • Occupational hazards and proper safety precautions
  • Complete production processes and how each interact
  • Final function of products and systems produced
  • Able to read precast/prestress shop drawings, construction drawings and specifications
  • Planning processes
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Strong math skills, college credits a plus
  • Good organizational skills, time management.

Department: Yard Crew

Reports to: Yard Manager

Summary: Crane Operators will operate the mobile shuttle lifts in the yard operations.   They will be responsible for safe crane and rigging operations, including daily inspections.

Essential Functions

  • Operate yard cranes.
  • Transfer loads to designated area safely.
  • Assure proper rigging of panels and equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery daily.
  • Keep and update maintenance and activity log.
  • Make sure precast is properly stored in the yard per written procedures.
  • Coordinate with ground crew and interpret hand and verbal signals.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Help keep the yard clean and organized.
  • Execute other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements, Required: High School Diploma or the Equivalent.

Experience Requirements, Required: Previous experience as a crane operator or a similar role. NCCO certification or the ability to become certified in the first 3 months of employment.
