As a Production Supervisor at our leading concrete bridge beam manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the production activities to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing of concrete bridge beams. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of production processes, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead and supervise production teams to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to production staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Production Planning and Scheduling:
  • Develop production schedules in collaboration with the production planning team to meet customer orders and project deadlines.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to respond to changing priorities and demands.

Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures throughout the production process.

Safety Compliance:

  • Uphold and enforce safety protocols and standards to ensure a safe working environment.

Resource Management:

  • Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize production efficiency.
  •  Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely and preventive maintenance of production machinery.

Reporting:

  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Education & Experience:

Although formal education is preferred, due to our unique process of fabrication and labor practices, work experience tends to outweigh education. Peninsula Prestress has had more success with Supervisory personnel who have previous experience with similar concrete processes to ours, and/or have risen in the ranks of general labor to Supervisor internally.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to stay focused and perform in a consistent manner, even under pressure.

 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

  •  Ability to comprehend  measurements and locations from a production drawing, and transfer those same numbers to our concrete beds with very little tolerance acceptance.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY 

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Licenses & Certifications:

ACI/PCI certification preferred. All certificates as they apply will be considered.

  • Knowledge of precast industry practices and processes.
  • Previous experience with general contractors, architecture firms, or industry vendors is a plus.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel regionally within the Midwest.
