Position: (ENTRY LEVEL & EXPERIENCED)

E.Construct is seeking entry level and experienced drafters for our Orlando, FL office to work as structural designers in our precast division. Candidates should have a strong work ethic, good technical aptitude and desire to learn. Entry level candidates should have a high school diploma and have completed coursework in Revit. Experienced candidates should have completed similar course work or have equivalent experience. Training or experience in Revit, EDGE is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

  • 3D Modeling of various precast/prestressed concrete structures and their components
  • Generating and preparing quality and detailed erection drawings and piece tickets
  • Working with a multidiscipline team to ensure coordinated design packages
  • Reading and understanding construction documents and preparing RFIs when required
  • No travel; No telecommuting.

Technical Responsibilities include:

EnCon is currently seeking Project Design Drafter. Acting as the lead project drafter, the successful applicant will produce highly detailed precast concrete shop drawings by combining the architectural intent and engineering designs into one set of plans that are ultimately used for construction.

Cross Training:

It is understood that the responsibilities listed here are for someone who has been engaged in a similar position and working at this level for multiple years. EnCon is very willing to support the development and training of these skills assuming the qualified candidate has experience managing a small team along with a general level of understanding and working knowledge of the AEC community.

Technical Responsibilities would include:

  • Work closely with architects, engineers and project managers to develop a 3D Revit model that meets the design requirements described in the contract documents and proposal.
  • Convert the 3D model into plans, elevations and details that describe the intricate detail of how the building is to be assembled.
  • Actively participate in weekly design meetings with the design team and clearly articulate problems with design and propose solutions.
  • Review construction documents for construability, code compliance and completeness. Develop clear and detailed RFI’s as necessary when information is insufficient.
  • Interpret engineering calculations and design summaries to create embed assemblies and details that meet the design intention.
  • Insert connections and details into the model based on engineering calculations.  
  • Model rebar inside the Revit environment based on engineering designs.
  • Apply generic design instructions to a wide variety of applicable products.
  • Work with the production facility, erection department and shipping department to determine maximum product size and weight and other restrictions.
  • Understand production and erection limitations.
  • Be mindful of erection sequence.
  • Motivate others to produce the information that is required to complete the project.  
  • Aggressively work towards project completion and work overtime as required to meet submittal dates and other project deadlines.
  • Comprehension and follow-up of supervisor’s instructions with minimum supervision.
  • Communicate technical information verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical users.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Naturally be detail-oriented, accurate and strive for perfection.
  • Be a pro-active, self-motivated, self-starter.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Geometry – Required.
  • Experience with 3D AutoCAD – Preferred.
  • Working experience with Revit –Strongly Preferred.
  • Be proficient in basic Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams).
  • AAS or BS in related Construction field plus.
