Under oversight Senior Engineer or management, the Engineer is responsible for the design of precast structures and overseeing all aspects of projects to ensure successful and safe outcomes.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pursue Professional Engineering licensure.
  • Ensures safe structures, safe working conditions, quality products, quality service, and satisfied customers by working with all departments within the Company.
  • Interpret Architectural/Structural plans and performs required calculations to ensure structural integrity.
  • Oversees a project design team and is accountable for project milestones and the successful deliverable to internal and external customers.
  • Identifies potential issues with project schedules and quality and responds with proposed solutions with internal teams.
  • Seek advice from senior and peer engineers to aide in unfamiliar designs and responsibilities to find the best solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to find optimal solutions.
  • Coordinates with Contractors/Engineers/Architects/Owners as required
  • Provide sales staff with engineering support for prospect jobs.
  • Visits manufacturing facilities and construction sites as required for assigned projects
  • Handles concerns and issues as necessary during any phase of the project.
  • Needs to make timely, educated decisions based on needs and requirements.
  • Prepares appropriate fixes for errors that have occurred on the projects

Education / Experience / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering, or comparable ABET accredited degree.
  • 0+ years experience required, and a preference in design engineering in the precast industry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Interpersonal communication skills to interact with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.

This position will work as a field and lab technician under the direct supervision of the Structures Lab Supervisor. This position will perform engineering construction inspections, sampling, and testing for major prestress/precast concrete structures, as well as minor precast items, such as concrete pipe, precast box culverts, MSE panels, retaining walls, manhole materials, etc.

The technician performs American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and Arizona test methods and will work with various precast manufacturers to ensure project materials meet the project plans and specifications.

The technician will also inform the Supervisor or Manager of any materials issues or deficiencies found or witnessed during production. The technician will verify calibration of testing equipment and maintain project materials records. This position will maintain equipment and facilities.

Duties may require the technician to work weekends, holidays, and varied work hours, in all weather conditions. This position requires travel, including overnight and out of state.

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Precast Structural Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing precast concrete elements, including hollowcore planks, panels, beams, and columns, on a project-by-project basis. This role involves close collaboration with engineering teams on behalf of APS, creating detailed designs, and transferring "piece data" to our production team to facilitate project scheduling and manufacturing.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and analyze precast concrete elements on a project-by-project basis, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Develop and validate structural calculations and connection designs for precast components.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including drafting, project management, sales, estimating, production, and erection, throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Quality Control Technician is responsible to safely perform tasks involving some physical labor for assisting Precast / Prestressed Concrete Product Production. Candidate will be responsible for performing tests as required on raw materials in process components and final product. Participating in tests, inspections, processing methods and material qualifications. Use of a diverse range of hand tools and testing equipment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Capable of operating multiple pieces of construction tools and equipment used in testing precast concrete manufacturing.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Perform daily maintenance, cleaning and safety checks of equipment to ensure smooth operation
  • Clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary
  • Perform daily plastic concrete tests and compressive strength testing on hardened concrete specimens
  • Perform daily pre-pour and post-pour inspections of products
  • Perform prestressing inspection tasks
  • Marking of all products.
