The Vice President, Technical Services serves as the primary technical representative of PCI responsible for processes to develop, review, and disseminate technical knowledge for the precast concrete industry and for specifying entities. Essential Job Functions

Required Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Education: MS in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • Registered Professional or Structural Engineer
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including:
    • Precast, prestressed specialty structural engineering services to precast concrete producers
    • Precast engineering positions for precast, prestressed concrete producers
  • Active participation with PCI Technical Committees, with an emphasis on building and commercial projects preferred (parking structures, commercial, multi-story residential, institutional, etc.)
  • Familiarity with the US model code and standards development process.
  • Demonstrated experience in research of precast and precast, prestressed concrete.

The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) is an organization dedicated to fostering greater understanding and use of precast and prestressed concrete. Founded in 1954, PCI is the technical institute for the precast, prestressed concrete structures industry. PCI develops, maintains, and disseminates the Body of Knowledge for designing, fabricating, and constructing precast concrete structures and systems. It is from this Body of Knowledge that buildings codes, design guides, education, and certification programs are derived.  PCI provides technical resources, certification for companies and individuals, and continuing education. Position Overview: The Director of Sustainability reports to the President/CEO and is a member of the PCI Leadership Team. The Director of Sustainability will be a key leader in shaping and executing our sustainability strategy. This role involves developing and implementing sustainability initiatives that align with our mission and industry goals, leading research and advocacy efforts, and engaging with industry partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in sustainability practices, particularly within the construction and concrete industry.   Experience managing government grants, including those related to sustainability is a plus. 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Advance the interests of the Institute and the industry within the major forums for developing technology, evaluation systems, codes, and standards relating to sustainability.
    • Monitor sustainability-related issues and actions taken by outside organizations and identify those that may impact the industry or offer improvement opportunities.
    • Represent the industry and the Institute in sustainability-related meetings, conferences, and presentations.
    • Identify and collaborate with other associations, government organizations, and other outside allies to support the Institute’s sustainability objectives.

Qualifications:

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare calculations and drawings to support structural design of product to include concrete reinforcement, product sizing, connection requirements and overall stability analysis to meet customer demands and building codes. (Hollowcore, plank, beams, columns, slabs, wall panels)

  • Inspection and verification of the accuracy of dimensions of units, quantity and location of reinforcement and cast-in items, forms and mold layout, and other matters pertaining specifically to production. Checking adequacy of the form to product units without undesirable distortion or surface defects.

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of all quality control functions within the precast, ready mix, and steel fabrication divisions. This includes responsibility for quality control, safety, oversight of production means and methods, administration, documentation and cost control.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Immediately report all accidents, incidents and near misses occurring on the job site to your supervisor.

  • Monitor the quality control portion of AISC certification.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records that are understandable and easy to access.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction related field OR high school diploma/GED/Tech Prep Diploma with a minimum 5 years of relevant management experience in the construction of materials industry.

As a Design Engineer for AE Concrete Products Inc., you will be responsible for supporting the entire operation, managing projects, and applying engineering knowledge to the practical and efficient design of precast concrete products and associated components. You will be involved in other activities including design reviews, checking drawings, project meetings, scheduling, establishing objectives and leading and implementing process improvement initiatives. Job Duties & Responsibilities:

General Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering knowledge and judgment to the design of complicated or involved precast concrete products and associated components. Incorporating the designs and customer requirements into production drawings ensuring manufacturing feasibility, efficiency & cost effectiveness while reviewing shop drawing for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide innovative design input and technical expertise to the sales department and customers using a high degree of product & precast manufacturing knowledge for preliminary designs and product development.
