Main requirements:

Established in 1952, producing septic tanks and parking curbs, today ACP designs and manufactures a wide variety of quality precast concrete products for the utility, commercial construction, infrastructure and railroad industries.  Located in Valley, Nebraska our facility sits on 40 acres and produces more than 40,000 cubic yards of precast concrete products each year.

Summary:

The Quality Control Manager directs and coordinates all activities of the Quality Control Department, testing laboratory and QC Personnel. Collaborates with Operations and Plant Managers to ensure that all PCI requirements are met. Teams up with others to optimize production quality and workflow. Demonstrates through action the importance of safety by working with the Plant Safety Coordinator.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of American Concrete Products, processes, and workflow.
  • Measure current quality strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain daily inspections of concrete batching, mixing, handling, placing, consolidating,
  • and finishing.
  • Conduct daily inspection and verification of product dimensions, quantity and location of reinforcement and embedded items, forms and mold adequacy/layout.
  • Fabricate representative test samples as described by Precast Institute (PCI)
  • Create, document, and manage all concrete mix designs.
  • Conduct inspections of all finished products for conformance as applicable to each specific product and within the limit of acceptable industry standards.
  • Document, communicate, and follow-up on required repairs of finished products per PCI Quality Control Standards.
  • Prepare, maintain, and organize complete QC records for all fabricated products in an efficient and accessible manner.
  • Partner with Operations and Plant Managers to eliminate processes that create rework or wasted material. Follows-up on all quality issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and develop QC personnel focusing on skillset, training, development needs, and performance management.

Education / Experience / Certifications:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience/education (preferably in engineering, construction management, contracting or building).
  • 5-7 years of related experience in pre-cast & or pre-stressed concrete industry (preferred) or relevant quality control management.
  • Previous supervisory/management experience required.
  • ACI & PCI Level III Certification preferred but not required.

Primary Purpose:

The primary responsibility of the position is to provide administrative support for member services and senior staff as needed. Under the supervision of Membership Project Manager, provide support for CEO/President, Operations, Quality Programs, Marketing & Education and Architecture Services.

The individual will provide internal and external support and services related to administrative services, operations, association resources and general information. The individual will provide superior, accurate and timely customer service to members, senior staff prospective members, chapters, and meeting attendees.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Governance/Membership

  • Assist with all Board meetings, including agenda, content coordination and minutes
  • Assist with Board policy administration
  • Assist with annual membership renewals
  • Maintain PCI’s Board of Directors Handbook
  • Maintain award recipients lists in database
  • Assist CEO/President as requested
  • Maintain internal staff attendance calendar
  • Develop agenda and order catering for monthly staff meetings
  • Coordinate the production of member award presentation programs and membership videos
  • Working with internal staff to monitor and maintain updated membership and award pages on the PCI website

The Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 15 years of relevant experience. The Candidate must be proficient with the following codes: AASHTO; ASCE-7; ACI 318; and AISC. The Candidate should also be proficient with structural analysis/design software and AutoCAD.

Primary duties will include:

  • Providing day to day leadership to technical staff in the performance of their duties.

  • Identifying out-of-scope work, discussing immediately with Group Director and then the Client.

As a Sales Manager at CXT Inc. you are responsible to sell precast products with a primary focus on strategically increasing customer base by making outside sales calls within designated region, increasing sales of precast products, and working with plant leadership to add additional precast products to portfolio, while meeting customer specifications and design requirements, scheduling of material procurement and deliveries, supply chain purchasing and budget management for each project.

This Position

  1. Create strategies that meet or exceed, on a consistent basis, the annual operating and rolling strategic plans.
  2. Implement strategic market activities, locally and regionally, to generate maximum sales & gross profit.
  3. Meet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and assess the quality of our company relationship with customers and seek new opportunities with prospective customers.
  4. Answer customer questions about products, pricing, availability, and credit terms; and resolve customer complaints regarding product or service.
  5. Maintain sales volume, product mix and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  6. Work with plant leadership to provide estimates, credit or contract terms, warranty information, and delivery dates to customers.
  7. Coordinate with production to ensures production schedules are met and deliveries accomplished within customer timeline.
  8. Provide accurate monthly reporting, including tracking and analyzing sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics.
  9. Work effectively with Engineering, Plant Leadership and Finance to ensure customer production timeline is met and invoicing is complete.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

What Do You Need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required or equivalent job-related experience
  • Minimum 4 years of sales experience required
  • 2-4 years management experience preferred
  • Experience with SAP or other CRM software a plus
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Business sense and industry knowledge
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and team environment
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, mostly day trips

The Position

The Quality Manger is responsible for ensuring outstanding quality of pre-cast building products. They take ownership of all aspects of quality control including raw materials, manufacturing processes, product finishes, product handling, storage, and installation. Their attention to efficiency, quality, and communication drives cost savings to support Mid-States ability to be exceptionally profitable. This individual will also:

  • Collaborate daily with Production Management to oversee inspection activity of product throughout the production cycle
  • Collaborate with Field Project Management to address customer and field Quality issues; Assure ongoing compliance to quality standards for field operations in particular meeting MNL 116/117 and PCI Erection standards
  • Continuously seek to improve product quality, reduce product defects and scrap, increase manufacturing efficiency, and troubleshoot errors through Six Sigma, Red X, and/or other statistical and root-cause initiatives
  • Regularly reviews and improves upon standard and special mix designs that enhance product quality, reduces manpower requirements, meets customer defined criteria for strength and finishes, and reduces cost
  • Understand, research, and educate others on best-practices for improved quality, including PCI standards
  • Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • Participate in PCI audits and committees to collaborate with others within precast industry
  • Support Plant safety standards by intervening, resolving, and reporting any safety hazard
  • Impact financial objectives by budgeting expenditures, analyzing cost variances, and reducing scrap through corrective actions
  • Supervise Quality team members and grow their technical expertise; generate SWIs for Quality work assignments; regularly review and manage team performance
  • Collaborate with Quality Team to uphold and improve standards; complete internal/external quality audits to ensure compliance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of relevant experience
  • PCI Level 3 Certified
  • 5+ years of experience maintaining quality within a precast concrete facility
  • 3+ years supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and drive cost savings
  • Experience creating concrete mix designs, prestress calculations, gradations, and QC recordkeeping
  • Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft office proficiency
  • Exceptional ability to read & understand blueprints

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar field
  • OSHA 30 hour
  • Current ACI Certification
  • Architectural precast quality control experience
  • Creating KPI’s, Quality Charts, policies, and procedures.
