Key Responsibilities

  • Provide QA Inspection of concrete products at precast yards - Typical products inspected include girders, piling, pavement panels, and mse panels
  • Will travel nationwide - Approximately 50% overnight travel

Skills / Qualifications

  • Precast / Prestressed Concrete Institute Quality Control Personnel Certification Level II (PCI-II) (with CWI as a plus)
  • American Concrete Institute Concrete Field Technician, Grade I Certification
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Technical aptitude
  • Comfortable working in fast paced team environment
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy

Pre-cast products are designed, manufactured, and tested in our plant under the supervision of experienced management and a PCI Certified Quality Control Program. The plant is PCI certified for Architectural and Industrial/structural products. Precast producer/manufacturer of a full range of precast concrete products. Precast comprises design, management, production, and on-site installation teams that have many years of experience in the concrete industry. From design to installation, we are equipped to provide the highest quality products. It is the plant manager's overall job to make sure that product is poured and ready to be shipped and erected along with the following:

  • Manage daily operations in our plant including raw material and finished product inventory, shipping and fulfillment, scheduling, and staffing
  • Works with the Engineering / Drafting department to ensure production is to the highest quality
  • Ensure that Panels and components are poured daily according to schedule and budget 
  • Ensure safety and efficiency of the facility
  • Test and monitor plant processes
  • Prepare, analyze, and issue production, quality, and performance reports
  • Prepare weekly job cost reports

Technical Responsibilities include:

EnCon is currently seeking Project Design Drafter. Acting as the lead project drafter, the successful applicant will produce highly detailed precast concrete shop drawings by combining the architectural intent and engineering designs into one set of plans that are ultimately used for construction.

Cross Training:

It is understood that the responsibilities listed here are for someone who has been engaged in a similar position and working at this level for multiple years. EnCon is very willing to support the development and training of these skills assuming the qualified candidate has experience managing a small team along with a general level of understanding and working knowledge of the AEC community.

Technical Responsibilities would include:

  • Work closely with architects, engineers and project managers to develop a 3D Revit model that meets the design requirements described in the contract documents and proposal.
  • Convert the 3D model into plans, elevations and details that describe the intricate detail of how the building is to be assembled.
  • Actively participate in weekly design meetings with the design team and clearly articulate problems with design and propose solutions.
  • Review construction documents for construability, code compliance and completeness. Develop clear and detailed RFI’s as necessary when information is insufficient.
  • Interpret engineering calculations and design summaries to create embed assemblies and details that meet the design intention.
  • Insert connections and details into the model based on engineering calculations.  
  • Model rebar inside the Revit environment based on engineering designs.
  • Apply generic design instructions to a wide variety of applicable products.
  • Work with the production facility, erection department and shipping department to determine maximum product size and weight and other restrictions.
  • Understand production and erection limitations.
  • Be mindful of erection sequence.
  • Motivate others to produce the information that is required to complete the project.  
  • Aggressively work towards project completion and work overtime as required to meet submittal dates and other project deadlines.
  • Comprehension and follow-up of supervisor’s instructions with minimum supervision.
  • Communicate technical information verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical users.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Naturally be detail-oriented, accurate and strive for perfection.
  • Be a pro-active, self-motivated, self-starter.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Geometry – Required.
  • Experience with 3D AutoCAD – Preferred.
  • Working experience with Revit –Strongly Preferred.
  • Be proficient in basic Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams).
  • AAS or BS in related Construction field plus.

JOB DESCRIPTION

EnCon is currently seeking a Chief Engineer.   Acting as the senior engineer, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing a training curriculum to advance new hires and existing design engineers.    The Chief Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and development of the design standards for all the EnCon manufacturing companies.   Design standards include forming constraints, design process and logic, code conformance and calculation package development.  In addition, the Chief Engineer will support the department management and throughput of design work while acting as a lead engineer on specific projects as required.

Technical Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain the EnCon Design standards to ensure safe efficient design work references plant specific preferences and capabilities
  • Develop and maintain a training program specific to training prestressed and precast design practices specific to the EnCon Company market segments
  • Lead a design teams for the preparation of required design and details for specific projects assigned by Engineering Manager, while taking into account:
    • Compliance with building codes and project-specific design requirements
    • Meeting the project deadlines and ensuring design quality
    • Safe, efficient and economical production, stripping, transportation, installation, shoring and alignment of the product
    • Adherence to Company standards and procedures in design and detailing
    • Budget and material limitations of the project
  • Participate in project planning and execution by:
    • Review of construction documents in the preplanning phase to identify project scope, schedule, and design approach
    • Review of plans, details and specifications and provide interpretation. Identify deficiencies and assist with resolution
    • Maintaining project design and communication documentation for the duration of the job
  • Assist Engineering Manager in:
    • Preparation of design effort estimates, staffing schedules and assignments, and budget tracking
    • Coordination with manufacturing facilities to identify workload and schedules
    • Providing technical assistance to other departments as required
  • Report project and staff progress to Engineering Manager at regular intervals
  • Supervise and provide guidance as necessary to department and other employees as assigned
  • Be informed of current developments within the organization and the industry
  • Continuously look for or develop methods to improve efficiency and economy
  • Pursue professional development whenever possible

Responsibilities:

  1. Customer base: Precasters (Precast and Prestressed producers).
  2. Learn technical information about CONAC products.
  3. Manage customer relations and answer their technical questions.
  4. Assist customer with instruction on how to use CONAC products.
  5. Develop new sales opportunities.
  6. Present CONAC products to engineers, plant managers, and specifiers through “Lunch & Learn” and remote (Zoom) presentations.
  7. Attend regional and national industry events organized by NPCA and PCI and their chapters.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Engineering degree related to precast lifting systems.
  2. Ability to read precast member shop drawings.
  3. 5 plus years of experience in the precast/prestress industry with focus on lifting hardware.
  4. Strong presentation, phone and communication skills.
  5. Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and industry standard CAD software.
  6. Organized and able to multitask.
  7. Ability to work effectively with others.

  • Strong presentation, phone, and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and ability to learn internal systems.
  • Social media savvy, LinkedIn.
  • Must be organized and able to multitask.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented.
  • Ability to travel.
