PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Eastbank is a mixed-use building situated on a prominent site at the entrance to Elkhart’s River District and the latest addition to the district’s The Delta neighborhood. Key Project Attributes

  • While the neighboring building has a dark brick industrial vibe, the Eastbank has a classical façade.
  • The Class A, mixed-use commercial building represents the newly redeveloped riverfront neighborhood known as The Delta.

Project/Precast Scope

  • The framing system consists of precast concrete columns, beams, stairs, elevator towers, and hollow-core slab enclosed with architectural precast concrete load-bearing insulated walls.
  • On the upper levels, embedded thin brick, arches, and cornices within the architectural precast concrete panels combine to form the classic features of the façade.
  • By working within the footprint and taking advantage of the efficient nature of precast concrete construction, the building was erected quickly without scaffolding, minimizing the impact on traffic and pedestrians.
