Proj Overview

The City of Pleasant Hill, Iowa was in need of new facilities for its fire and police departments. The new Public Safety Facility houses the eastern Polk County suburb’s police department. It also includes apparatus bays for the fire department. As the City planned for the new facility, they knew that the building needed to be functional, durable, and aesthetically pleasing.

Precast concrete provided the designers the ability to create an efficient and cost-effective design that still included stunning aesthetics.  The strength and durability of precast concrete coupled with the variety of architectural finishes available made precast concrete the best solution to meet the project requirements.

Precast concrete was able to deliver on both its structural and architectural advantages. PDM Precast provided double-tees, hollowcore, insulated wall panels, and solid wall panels which made the structure solid and durable.  The thin brick, integral color, formliners, and acid etching made the structure something this growing Des Moines suburb could be proud of.
