Proj Overview

Steps from the historic Walnut Street Bridge and overlooking the Tennessee River, The Edwin is Chattanooga’s first luxury boutique hotel. The 90-room downtown property is Chattanooga’s first true rooftop bar, featuring a rooftop plunge pool and amazing city views. The chic, contemporary interior features works from local artists in the halls and scattered sitting rooms. The property features an impeccable White Bird restaurant that sources its ingredients locally and The Whiskey Thief rooftop bar, with an extensive whiskey collection along with varied cocktails and breath-taking river and mountain views. With the interior of the hotel requiring largely an open floor plan, and the location of the roof top bar and plunge pool, hollow core plank was a perfect solution.

PRECAST SOLUTION

Hollow core plank was specified for the structure from the 1st floor through the 5th floor and roof. Hollow core plank provided an efficient structural system that could help accelerate the construction schedule. Considering the site is extremely tight and sits between several busy streets, hollow core plank was a perfect solution for a quick erection with limited space required. The hollow core plank was picked directly from the delivery flatbed truck and immediately placed on the structure.
