An elegant mixed-use project both functionally and architecturally, this projectis without precedent in this urban area. It is a mixed-use project, but a veryspecial one: part hotel, and part condominium residences—with a full complementof hotel services and amenities.

Precast Solution

Architectural precast panels allowed great flexibility in thedesign of this 60-story hotel and residential tower. At the base of thebuilding, the design concept was to create a richly articulated entry courtyardthat would indicate the grand sense of arrival and that signaled the highquality of this new hotel brand. Panels were designed to create deep revealsreminiscent of stone joinery and detailing. Decorative cornices, urns, andcopings all work together to create an elegance of century-old design andcraftsmanship. Deep reveals create dramatic shadow lines that give the facade aunique character.

With precast, the designer was able to achieveexactly the color and texture desired in addition to the rich detailing. Specialdetails were created at the base and top of the building and repetitive formswere economically used to clad the shaft of the tower.
