Proj Overview

Project Overview

An elegant mixed-use project both functionally and architecturally, this project is without precedent in this urban area. It is a mixed-use project, but a very special one: part hotel, and part condominium residences—with a full complement of hotel services and amenities.

Precast Solution

Architectural precast panels allowed great flexibility in the design of this 60-story hotel and residential tower. At the base of the building, the design concept was to create a richly articulated entry courtyard that would indicate the grand sense of arrival and that signaled the high quality of this new hotel brand. Panels were designed to create deep reveals reminiscent of stone joinery and detailing. Decorative cornices, urns, and copings all work together to create an elegance of century-old design and craftsmanship. Deep reveals create dramatic shadow lines that give the facade a unique character.

With precast, the designer was able to achieve exactly the color and texture desired in addition to the rich detailing. Special details were created at the base and top of the building and repetitive forms were economically used to clad the shaft of the tower.
