Proj Overview

Project Overview

To expand its facilities at Swedish Covenant Hospital on a tight footprint, administrators needed to create a multi-use project combining doctors’ offices and a surgery center on the upper three floors along with parking on the lower five floors.

Precast Solution

The design-build project features a total-precast concrete structural system and architectural spandrels on the lower five floor for parking, which provide a strong foundation for the three medical center levels above.

The precast concrete system reduces vibration and decrease noise transmission, so the soothing environments created on the top three floors will not be disrupted with noise or vibrations from the parking structure. The 238,000 square-foot facility includes 260 spaces for cars.

The ease of constructing with precast concrete allowed the construction team to complete the framing of the building and construction of the parking structure in just 7 ½ weeks.
