Proj Overview

Avalon Natick, a new high-rise luxury apartment community developed by AvalonBay Communities, Inc., located in Natick, MA. The complex includes two apartment buildings and  a 137,036sq.ft., 4-level, 417 vehicle precast concrete parking garage.

Precast Chosen Because it’s Versatile, Efficient, and Low-maintenance!
Precast concrete offers aesthetic versatility and efficiency by replicating a range of masonry and natural-stone appearances. This parking structure is an example of the advantages available to the designer when using precast concrete. Its strength and durability was effectively combined with the ability to provide structural elements that can incorporate fine architectural features. The result is a project that was efficiently constructed and precise in its detailing.

Embedded thin brick precast spandrels, as well as columns, double tees, litewalls, shearwalls, risers, solid slabs, stairwalls were manufactured and erected by Unistress Corporation of Pittsfield, MA. Callahan, Inc. of Bridgewater, MA provided construction management services for the total precast concrete building system. The project architect was Russell Scott Streedle and Capone Architects Inc. of Cambridge, MA, and the project engineer was DM Berg Consultants of Needham, MA.
