Abstract

This paper discusses relaxation in prestressing steel wire, defined as stress loss at constant extension and related to creep phenomenon. Both relaxation and creep are correlated to the stress-strain diagram.  The effects of time, temperature, rate of loading and re-stressing upon relaxation are presented.
