Established as the Certificate of Merit Award in 1984 and renamed for Leslie D. Martin in 2006, this award recognizes a PCI-published document judged to be technically outstanding and most worthy of special commendation for its merit as a contribution to the advancement of precast concrete.
- There is annual consideration, with the award presented only when a truly outstanding technical document is published.
- Competition is open to all PCI committees, teams, or subcommittees publishing a technical document in one of the four categories:
- State-of-the-art reports;
- Recommended practices;
- Specifications or standards; or
- Other technical reports or publications.
- Documents may cover topics of research, development, design, construction, production, or erection.
