Established as the Certificate of Merit Award in 1984 and renamed for Leslie D. Martin in 2006, this award recognizes a PCI-published document judged to be technically outstanding and most worthy of special commendation for its merit as a contribution to the advancement of precast concrete.
  • There is annual consideration, with the award presented only when a truly outstanding technical document is published.
  • Competition is open to all PCI committees, teams, or subcommittees publishing a technical document in one of the four categories:
    • State-of-the-art reports;
    • Recommended practices;
    • Specifications or standards; or
    • Other technical reports or publications.
  • Documents may cover topics of research, development, design, construction, production, or erection.
