PCI Bridge Design Manual, 4th Edition, Second Release, 2026 FREE PDF (MNL-133-26)
The PCI Bridge Design Manual presents both preliminary and final design information for standard beams and most precast and precast, prestressed concrete products and systems used for transportation structures. Topics in this comprehensive design manual include background information, strategies for economy, fabrication techniques, design loads, preliminary design tables, design theory, load calibration, time-dependent losses, and selected design examples. Chapters also address sustainability, bearings, extending spans, curved and skewed bridges, integral bridges, segmental bridges, additional bridge products, railroad bridges, load rating, repair and rehabilitation, and recreational bridges.
This new release has been revised to include the following: Chapter 3 has expanded information for 0.6-in.-diameter strand lifting loops. Chapter 8 explains and extensively discusses camber estimates. Chapter 9 has two new design examples for a 200-ft-long precast, prestressed concrete bridge girder with lateral stability checks during handling and transportation; one example uses normalweight concrete, and the other uses lightweight concrete. Chapter 15, Seismic Design, and Chapter 20, Precast, Prestressed Concrete Piles—which were previously available as standalone PCI publications, SD-02-25 and BM-20-25, respectively—are included in this release. Chapter 20 presents material that complies with ANSI/PCI 142, Specification for Precast, Prestressed Concrete Piles.
