PCI has discontinued the A1, BA, and CA Architectural Precast
Concrete certification categories, effective 10/1/2021. Consequently, there will be no PCI-certified plants with
these categories after that date. Categories A1, BA, and CA have been replaced with four separate certification
categories: AA, AB, AC and AD. Category AT for precast concrete trim pieces remains. All PCI-certified
architectural plants are now certified in one of these five categories.
These new categories better align each producer’s capabilities with the specific markets they serve and
provide industry with assurance of demonstrated PCI precast concrete producer capabilities. The program
reinforces superior product quality, with performance criteria for each certification category, which is verified by
third-party inspection requirements.
