What is the Hubb?

The Hubb is a gathering place where attendees can mingle, meet vendors, have impromptu meetings and network with fellow attendees. It’s your go-to spot to recharge yourself and your electronic devices as well as have your professional headshot taken. It’s the Hubb of the event.

PCI Foundation Student Posters

The PCI Foundation will share two posters from its bridge programs during the event.

Sacramento State

In Fall 2018, Sacramento State kicked off its 4-year PCI Foundation-supported Precast Bridge Studio to equip civil engineering and construction management students in the design, fabrication, and construction of PC/PS concrete bridges.  Year 1 featured an innovative class project with bridge engineering mentors each guiding a 5-person team to design a multi-span PC/PS bridge, with realistic deliverables (plans, design calculations, cost estimate, construction sequence, and working day schedule).  Students thrived because of extensive on-campus industry interaction through bridge design software workshops and lectures by Dura-Stress, Con-Fab, Viking Construction, and Caltrans, and through off-campus plant field trips to Con-Fab and Sumiden Wire.  Year 2 promises much more!

Idaho State University

The PCI Foundation and NPCA Foundation joined forces to support a Precast Engineering Studio focused on transportation products at Idaho State University (ISU) for the next four years. This will be first of its kind in the nation. ISU's Studio is supported by precast concrete industry in the Mountain States as well as the Idaho Transportation Department. Dr. Mustafa Mashal is the coordinator of the Studio at ISU.
