PROJECT OVERVIEW Located on a 28-acre waterfront site across from the San Francisco Giants’ Oracle Park stadium, the Mission Rock neighborhood will feature an array of workplaces, market-rate homes, shops, cafes, and amenities. PRECAST SOLUTION

The architect wanted to create impactful architecture that enables an active urban landscape, but also wanted to avoid sleek, all-glass commercial towers. Precast concrete was the ultimate solution.

Mission Rock is a key gateway development on a prominent, previously undeveloped site. It includes ground-floor retail, multilevel terraces, a main roof deck, and a creative interpretation on a traditional façade. The finished product feels different from other new mixed-use developments. The architecture of the buildings speak to each other, even though they have very distinct identities Project/Precast Scope Architectural precast concrete panels clad the 13-story office building, which has a large footprint but a pedestrian scale in this walkable community. The finished product feels different from other new mixed-use developments. The precast concrete design also had to accommodate seismic joints, which were hidden as much as possible. To incorporate the unique geometries across the building envelope, the precast concrete components span three bays wide with three windows per panel or approximately 21-ft modules.

Project/Precast Scope

Architectural precast concrete panels clad the 13-story office building, which has a large footprint but a pedestrian scale in this walkable community. The finished product feels different from other new mixed-use developments.
The precast concrete design also had to accommodate seismic joints, which were hidden as much as possible.
To incorporate the unique geometries across the building envelope, the precast concrete components span three bays wide with three windows per panel or approximately 21-ft modules.
