ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and track upcoming projects, generating leads through contacts while developing and maintaining a robust database for opportunity and project pursuits to streamline communication.
  • Engage architects, contractors, and engineers early in the design phase to provide a competitive edge and identify market opportunities for estimating and bidding, aiming for an annual sales goal of $10 million in revenue the first year.
  • Collaborate closely with the Estimating team to assist in budget development for cost studies, preparing estimates and proposals with relevant drawings and sketches, and coordinating scheduling, solutions, and production-related matters
  • Introduce new projects to estimating and engineering teams, assisting with initial layouts and fostering steady relationships with owners, general contractors, architects, and engineers throughout project stages.
  • Prepare quality reports and logs to oversee bidding projects while submitting required reports to the VP of Sales and the Regional Sales Manager. Maintain client information organized through relevant tools, eventually utilizing a CRM for effective decision-making.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure thorough completion of processes, aligning with plans while cultivating relationships with key clients to secure sustainable revenue streams through a consultative approach.
  • Attend industry meetings and events to expand the contact base for new products and customer relations while performing regular in-person visits or meetings with assigned clients.
  • Develop solutions and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) as needed, facilitating the introduction of samples and mockups to clients and job sites, while also assisting internal departments in the flow of information concerning projects.
  • Review contracts, oversee product design concepts, and ensure profitability while upholding Wells’ brand through effective material use and collaborating with marketing on key messaging throughout the sales cycle.
  • Act as the liaison between clients and Wells, ensuring project needs are met and client satisfaction is prioritized. Coordinate project information with marketing for case studies and take a leading role in marketing precast products at trade shows and through presentations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Complete special projects as assigned and perform other related tasks as necessary for individual projects, collaborating with Marketing/Business Development personnel to maximize time and resource efficiency while prioritizing client needs.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture and/or Construction Management preferred, or 3 – 5 years Precast sales experience.
  • Proficiency in multiple building types (e.g., precast, multi-level, parking ramps).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to present ideas effectively and work collaboratively.

Operates the extruder to produce consistent and quality hollow core planks. May require the ability to repair machinery, using hand and power tools.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure extruders are clean and continually remain in safe and efficient operating condition.
  • Ensure hollow core planks meet 100% total quality requirements; complete all required reports timely and accurately; inform proper personnel of any quality/maintenance problem that need resolving.
  • Monitor extruder cleanliness.
  • Work with the maintenance department on all preventative maintenance of the extruders; perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment using check list provided.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The first portion of the Wells EDP will get you up to speed with quality control. This is one of the most important aspects of engineering with Wells. Our attention to detail and quality is what sets us apart from the competition.

  • Shadow Quality Control (QC) tech at the plant
  • Learn to perform physical test on concrete in the lab
  • Get familiar with entering pre/post pour in Concrete Vision (CV), an internal production database
  • Take and pass American Concrete Institute (ACI) field I Test
  • Check forms during pre-pour
  • Start to get familiar with mix designs, finishes, NCR’s, and metrics
  • Take and pass Precast Concrete Institute (PCI) I/II
  • Work proficiently with mix designs and finishes
  • Pour samples
  • Enter and use NCR/metrics to work on root cause and continuous improvement
  • Conduct site visits when problems arise and determine root cause, then report to operations and help develop new processes, and procedures

The Quality Control phase, you’ll have the opportunity to work in our Field Services division.

  • Shadow a senior field supervisor and assist in the layout process

  • Coordinate with dispatch daily for load times and sequence
  • Supervise the installation process on job sites
  • Troubleshoot problems that arise and help resolve them

  • Assist field operation managers with conducting early job site visits to coordinate start date, crane and truck access and project concerns with clients

  • You’ll be prepared to take the PE exam and obtain your PE license.
