The Director of Membership & Business Development oversees all business development opportunities and partnerships for the PCI membership team, focusing on sponsorship growth. They identify new business prospects, expand relationships with existing partners, and explore new categories of potential partnerships to grow the membership base and add member benefits. The role involves developing revenue optimization plans, managing sponsorship deals, and overseeing print and digital advertising and webinars.
The Director also maintains the prospect database, coordinates membership campaigns, manages sales and advertising projects, and collaborates with the team to draft reports and communications, as well as prepare work orders for advertisements and publications. They also ensure effective staff communication and collaboration across departments to maximize revenue strategies in membership, sponsorships, advertising, and webinars.

Membership
- Oversee and manage member service functions while ensuring prompt responses to inquiries including the proper oversight of the annual membership renewal process.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department on campaigns that support the consistent messaging and promotion of PCI's membership benefits including the maintenance of membership-related website pages.
- Develop the annual departmental budget, ensure budget compliance, and lead the team to achieve organizational goals and member expectations.
- Ensure the development, documentation, and execution of meeting minutes and proposals while supporting PCI committee chairs as needed.
- Oversee the preparation of regular PCI Board Membership reports.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes, implement new member programs and services, and ensure effective operations.
- Serve as the Staff Liaison to board committees as assigned.
Business Development
- Oversee and develop the prospect database.
- Ensure the enhancement of customer relationships through strategic conversations and alignment of objectives with sponsorship, branding, and advertising opportunities that build mutual value.
- Coordinate membership recruitment campaigns using direct mail, phone calls, and emails while supporting the creation of relevant communications.
- Support the development of new business through outreach and networking to grow existing relationships and sponsorship offerings.
- Oversee and/or perform the Sponsorship and Advertising sales function for Events and publications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum 3-5 years of membership experience. Association experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Well organized with ability to multi-task and work within time constraints
- Ability to manage the demands of various personality types while maintaining a strong professional and positive demeanor
- Ability to determine deadlines and adhere to them; anticipates assignments due and takes appropriate action
- Ability to work both in a team environment and independently
- 2-3 years’ experience with a CMS, iMIS preferred
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft windows environment (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel, as required
- Ability to occasionally work long hours
- Ability to independently start and complete multiple projects
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned and required
- Understanding of/or ability to learn about the precast concrete structures industry
