Your role as a Design Engineer:
• Thoroughly and completely review job specifications and plans prior to disseminating design or other technical information.
• Accurately perform all structural and/or other design computations required in the development and construction of precast concrete products. This includes the production of shop drawings and design computations required to ensure our products are in compliance with applicable codes, standards and accepted engineering practices.
• Regularly interface with all departments within Fort Miller Precast to provide technical assistance needed in our effort to produce quality products in a timely manner. This may include responding to questions and concerns regarding product design and providing technical assistance to improve the efficiency of the overall production process as requested.
• Provide technical and design support to the research and development effort at Fort Miller Precast, assisting in development and design of new products.
• Interface as needed with Sales and Marketing Services, reviewing incoming project specifications and providing them with quantities and types of materials required to meet those specifications, and providing other technical assistance and design information and details as required.
• Interface regularly with customers, consulting engineers and outside agencies to provide technical assistance and support as required. This may include the development and presentation of technical information and visiting customer job sites as requested.
• Provide on-site technical support as required.
• Work closely with the Engineering Technicians, providing design calculations and supporting their efforts to develop and draft accurate shop drawings.
• Have a keen sense to identify and/or develop opportunities to use precast concrete in applications traditionally done with cast in place techniques or other materials.

Your role as a Sales Engineer:

  • Develop relationships with current and future customers in our markets.

Position Overview

United Concrete Products is seeking an experienced and driven Quality Control Manager to lead and oversee quality assurance and control operations across our production facilities. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring that all precast and prestressed concrete products meet or exceed applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. The QC Manager will work closely with production, engineering, and plant management teams to drive continuous improvement and maintain our certifications with PCI, NPCA, and ACPA.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage quality control programs across all production facilities in compliance with PCI, NPCA, ACPA, and applicable ASTM/AASHTO standards
  • Oversee and direct plant-level QC personnel, providing training, mentorship, and technical guidance
  • Design, review and approve concrete mix designs, ensuring performance requirements are consistently met

SUMMARY

The Senior Structural Engineer oversees the day-to-day operations of the design engineering and detailing department. This role reports to the General Manager and is a blend of technical design and team leadership, responsible for managing a team of CAD/Revit detailers.
