ARCHITECTURAL PRECAST MAKES THE GRADE

Located in Central Virginia, the new Falling Creek Middle School constructed in Chesterfield County, is a replacement middle school supporting a growing student enrollment of 1,800 students.

Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS) opted for a combination of load-bearing masonry and thin brick-clad precast architectural exterior walls to increase efficiency and expedite the construction schedule.

Some of the building’s features include a large cafeteria, a basketball gym with machine-operated retractable bleachers and classrooms set up for technology.

The construction also included a time capsule built into a wall, scheduled to be opened in 25 years, that includes parts of the old school building.

The new school, built on time and under budget, opened its doors August 1, 2024, and is the largest middle school in Central Virginia.
