Design-Assist Strategies for Higher Education: Delivering Better Campus Buildings from Day One

This free CEU webinar is available to PCI members and non-members.

Description:

Campus construction is uniquely challenging. Active sites, budget pressure, compressed schedules, and clients who own and operate buildings that need to perform for decades. The earlier a building solutions provider is involved in the design process, the better the outcome for everyone at the table.

This session with the Wells team will cover how design-assist engagement transforms campus projects from the first conversation. From student housing and residence halls to academic and athletic facilities, attendees will discover how integrating Wells building solutions early in design leads to better constructability, budget reliability, faster delivery, and spaces that stand the test of time.

This is a practical session built on real projects and real outcomes. Attendees will leave with strategies they can apply to their next campus project.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Evaluate how early design-assist engagement improves constructability, budget reliability, and schedule performance on higher education projects.
  2. Identify the on-site safety and risk reduction benefits of off-site fabrication and prefabricated building systems on active campus environments.
  3. Analyze how total building systems, including enclosure, pre-glazing, and facade solutions, meet energy code requirements and support long-term occupant health and comfort compared to conventional construction methods.
  4. Compare the lifecycle maintenance and resiliency performance of total building systems against traditional construction methods, including their application in the renovation and adaptive reuse of existing campus buildings.
