Hollow Core Diaphragm Design Webinar

Registration for this webinar is closed. The webinar on Hollow Core Diaphragm Design provides a review of the code requirements from IBC 2015, ASCE 7-10, and ACI 318-14 for the design of diaphragms in general. The provisions are applied to precast concrete hollow core construction. A design example following the PCI Manual for the Design of Hollow Core Slabs and Walls is presented that covers diaphragm design for wind, low-risk seismic design (SDC B) and moderate risk seismic design (SDC C). This webinar will take place Wednesday, June 17, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. CDT.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand rigid and flexible diaphragms
  • Calculate the diaphragm design force in accordance with ASCE 7-10
  • Understand the diaphragm design provisions of ACI 318-14
  • Be familiar with diaphragm behavior and design with hollow core slabs.
