Key Project Attributes
- The 100,000 ft2 Sioux Falls Public Safety Campus spans 42 acres.
- On-campus facilities include a 911 call center, an emergency operations center, outdoor and indoor classrooms, an emergency medical services simulation lab, and more.
- Law enforcement, fire and rescue, and emergency services personnel can all refine their skills at the on-site training facilities.
Project/Precast Scope
- The campus buildings feature architectural precast concrete panels and precast concrete double tees, beams, columns, and stair treads.
- Because the precast concrete elements were manufactured less than 10 miles from the project site, transportation emissions were minimized, reducing the project’s carbon footprint.
- Thanks to engineered moveable connections, precast concrete walls within the Urban Search and Rescue building are collapsible, which facilitates the use of unique training scenarios.
