Description: This webinar introduces the new ACI/PCI CODE 319-25 which governs the design and construction of structural precast concrete and referenced by ACI CODE 318-25. This webinar will highlight the organization, scope, and new code requirements specific to pretensioned concrete. Attendees will gain an understanding of how to apply the new code and how the new provisions support common industry practices for safe and durable structural precast concrete components and building systems.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the scope and organization of ACI/PCI CODE 319-25: Structural Precast Concrete Code and its relationship to ACI 318-25: Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete.
2. Identify key provisions in CODE 319-25 for structural precast and pretensioned concrete.
3. Learn how to apply CODE 319-25 requirements to structural precast concrete components and systems.
4. Recognize how the code provisions support safe and durable precast concrete construction.

Presenters:

• Edith Gallandorm is Director of Codes and Standards at the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute and where her primary focus is managing PCI’s code development process and coordinating efforts both inside and outside of the institute to advance and disseminate information regarding precast and precast, prestressed concrete. Prior to joining PCI, Gallandorm was a precast concrete specialty engineer for twenty years. She spent ten-years in consulting with Sirko Associates, Inc. serving precast concrete producers across the Unites States. Gallandorm was also a plant engineer with Metromont (GA, VA) and Gage Brothers Concrete (SD). Edith is a registered professional engineer in several states and the current chair of ACI-PCI 319 Committee.
• Dr. Jared Brewe is the President of S.K. Ghosh Associates, where he is a technical consultant on structural codes and standards. Prior to joining SKGA, he was Vice President of Technical Activities at the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute and a consulting engineer with Simpson Gumpertz & Heger and CTLGroup.  He is a member of numerous committees with ACI, ASTM, AWS, BSSC, PCI, and SEI. Dr. Brewe earned his BS, MS, and PhD in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, MO. He is a licensed professional engineer in several states and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois.
