This standard provides for the design and construction of precast, prestressed concrete piles. Such piles can be used to support most types of structural systems including buildings, bridges, piers, and wharfs. This standard contains modifications to the Recommended Practice for Design, Manufacture, and Installation of Prestressed Concrete Piling, published in 2019. PCI 142 prescribes best practices; significant information relevant to seismic design, such as detailing requirements based on the results of recent research; and prescribes procedures for performance-based design. This standard was developed through PCI’s ANSI-accredited consensus process. PCI 142 Concrete Piles Errata (August 2024) Available
