Recommended Practice for Design, Manufacture, and Installation of Prestressed Concrete Piling FREE PDF (RP-156-19)
Originally published in the July–August 2019 issue of the PCI Journal, this document contains recommendations and guidelines for the design and detailing of prestressed concrete piles based on current knowledge and standards. It updates the previous version of the report published in the March–April 1993 issue of the PCI Journal. Although typical pile cross sections discussed in this report are those most commonly found throughout the United States and Canada, the intent of this report is not to limit the geometric configuration or material properties of prestressed concrete piling. For the first time in a PCI publication on prestressed pile design, this document presents performance-based design.
