Proj Overview

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Located at 1302 Edward L. Grant Highway in the Bronx, PS 468X is a new five-story and cellar building consisting of a primary school with pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and first through fifth grade classrooms. The school showcases how architectural precast concrete can deliver both performance and design flexibility in a dense urban setting.

Universal Concrete Products supplied the precast facade, which paired a thin brick veneer finish, formliner, and insulation to meet the project’s ambitious aesthetic and performance requirements. By fabricating the envelope components offsite to PCI stringent design and quality standards, the team delivered a low maintenance, durable building enclosure with a long service life.

PRECAST SOLUTION

The result? A beautiful, resilient, and thermally efficient building that meets New York City’s stringent sustainability mandates while providing a modern, welcoming environment for students.
