Florida Prestressed Concrete Association: Building a Stronger Florida Since 1957

Since 1957, the Florida Prestressed Concrete Association (FPCA) has championed the use of precast/prestressed concrete—bringing a transformative building system to Florida that is durable, efficient, attractive, and cost-effective.

While prestressed concrete concepts emerged in the 1920s, the technology gained momentum in the U.S. with the 1951 construction of the Walnut Lane Bridge. FPCA played a key role in introducing this innovation to Florida, setting the stage for stronger, smarter construction across the state.

Today, FPCA remains a driving force in the industry. Governed by a board of construction leaders, engineers, and industry experts, the association promotes greater awareness and adoption of precast concrete through strategic initiatives in marketing, education, and engineering. Its diverse membership—producers, suppliers, professionals, students, and affiliates—shares a common goal: to elevate precast as the smart, sustainable solution for Florida’s infrastructure and future growth.
