Webinar: Designing Schools w/ Architectural Precast Concrete
This course will provide architects and engineers an overview on how to specify, design and construct schools using architectural precast concrete. It begins with a brief overview of the recently updated PCI certification standards for specifying architectural precast. It also covers the aesthetic capabilities of precast and how those can contribute to the project's overall design concept while not diminishing precast concrete's energy efficient, fire resistant, and natural hazard resistant characteristics. It touches on the high performance capabilities of insulated precast walls. The course concludes with examples of a few recommended best practices to use when designing with precast, outlining how early engagement with a precast professional can benefit the design team and ultimately the owner / end user.
