2016 PCI Convention
Thank You for Making PCI's 2016 Convention & National Bridge Conference a Success!
Everyone had a great time at PCI's recent Convention & National Bridge Conference. But it was really your convention, designed exclusively for you and your success.
The halls were filled with colleagues connecting—and reconnecting—and sharing stories and new experiences. The meeting rooms were filled with precast professionals exchanging innovative ideas and groundbreaking information. More than 800 people visited Nashville, Tennessee to attend this year's dynamic convention.
Honoring Our Outstanding Precast Professionals
We also took time to recognize and celebrate some exceptional professionals. Robert D. Finfrock, owner and chairman of FINFROCK, received the inaugural Mario J. Bertolini Leadership & Innovation Award. The Norman L. Scott Professional Engineer Award was presented to Helmuth Wilden, vice president of Wilden Enterprises, Inc., and BASF Corporation took home the Associate Member Award. Jim Voss, president of JVI, Inc., was awarded PCI’s most prestigious award, the Medal of Honor. Congratulations to these outstanding individuals and company, and to all of our award winners who are continuously setting the gold standard for industry excellence. See the complete list of winners and videos on the Awards Programs page of the PCI website.
The Exhibit Hall Was a Hit with All!
This year, PCI partnered with The Precast Show to host the largest tradeshow in North America dedicated to precast concrete. There were more products and technologies being exhibited than ever before, with representatives from 100-plus companies around the world on hand to meet visitors and showcase their organizations' products and services. Attendees had the opportunity to get some one-on-one time with industry experts, view live demonstrations, discover new companies and learn what they offer, and even shoot a few hoops! The event featured 65,000 square feet of exhibit space.
Get Down with Your Bad Selfie...and Other Fun
Scores of fun-loving attendees participated in the #WhyPCI selfie contest for the chance to win a $250.00 gift card. All they had to do was to take a selfie at the extremely popular PCI Booth and tweet it, using hashtag #WhyPCI. The selfie that got the most "likes" by 12:00 noon on Sunday, March 6, was proclaimed the winner. Mahad Osman, a senior at Minnesota State University, was the "Most Liked" contestant and walked away with the gift card.
Convention goers were also able to take part in the Sponsor of the Day Contest and be entered into a raffle drawing for an Amazon Echo and $250.00 Amazon gift card. Curtis Olson took home these two fabulous prizes! Congratulations to Mahad and Curtis, and thank you to all who participated in our convention contests!
Update on Committees
All committees finalize their meeting minutes within 30 days of the convention. PCI members can find the minutes after April 6 by visiting www.pci.org and clicking on the "Committee Central" link on the "About PCI" tab at the top of the page.
